Each debate session follows a structured format designed to produce focused, fair argument. One member defends a claim; challengers from the audience step up to oppose it — one at a time, on the clock.
Signing Up
When a debate is announced, members can sign up with a claim they want to defend. The Mediator reviews the list and selects one person as the Defender for the session.
The Debate
Once the Defender confirms they are ready, a countdown begins. The first audience member to send a message becomes the Opposer and has 10 minutes to challenge the Defender's claim.
The audience can vote to remove the Opposer at any time by reacting with 🔴. If enough votes are reached, the Opposer is removed and a new one can take their place — with the remaining time carrying over.
The Mediator
The Mediator is a trusted server member responsible for running the session. They open sign-ups, select the Defender, start the debate, manage ejections, and post the final log. They do not participate as Defender or Opposer.
Rules
One Opposer at a time — the Defender faces one challenger.
Be respectful. Personal attacks are not debate.
Stay on topic — the Opposer must engage with the stated claim.
